Description
Registered Nurse Cardiovascular
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (89 days ≈ 13 weeks)
Job Description
Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients; observe physiological manifestations and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medications as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care.
- Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
- Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Proficient in Impella and experience with Impella devices
- Experience with heart recovery
- Proficient in IABP (intra-aortic balloon pump)
- Proficient in CRRT (continuous renal replacement therapy)
- Proficient in post open heart day 2 care
- Proficient in ECCMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation)
