Description

RN Surgical Specialty

Location

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week

Role Overview

Hospital-based registered nurse role providing care for a mixed med/surg and stepdown surgical transplant patient population. The unit cares for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients being evaluated during inpatient stay.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience
  • Acute care surgical floor experience
  • Stepdown/PCU experience
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
  • Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • ENT experience
  • Transplant experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher
  • Preceptor experience
  • Charge experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
  • Document patient responses and changes in physician orders
  • Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
  • Monitor patient physiological data and intervene when necessary
  • Administer medications and manage intravenous infusions and blood products
  • Communicate care plans and discharge information to patients and families
  • Make referrals for patient care needs
  • Delegate tasks to support staff
