Job Description

• Provide individualized patient care in the ICU according to departmental policies and Nurse Practice Act.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians, patients/families, and healthcare team members to develop and deliver care plans.
• Perform nursing assessments and document appropriately.
• Manage discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Participate in inservices, committees, and performance improvement activities.
• Facilitate physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual care of patients.
• Utilize positive communication skills for conflict resolution and teamwork.
• Monitor use of time, equipment, and supplies to contribute to cost-effective care.
• Comply with safety policies to ensure a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
• Demonstrate flexibility with changes in hospital or unit activities.
• May act as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.
• May be required to work on other nursing units based on staffing needs.

Requirements

• License: Current California RN license required.
• Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS/AHA certifications required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year clinical Registered Nurse experience preferred in specialty areas (ICU).
• Contract Length: 13 weeks.
