The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care in alignment with the Department of Nursing's philosophy and objectives. Utilizing Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, Relationship-Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing care consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care and Relationship-Based Care principles.
• Assessing patient physical and psychosocial conditions and formulating nursing diagnoses.
• Collaborating with patients and families to develop individualized care plans ensuring safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Performing essential nursing skills, educating patients and families on health needs, and explaining treatments.
• Evaluating care plan effectiveness and modifying as needed based on patient condition and feedback.
• Demonstrating proficiency in the use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
• Delegating tasks appropriately and supervising care team members effectively.
• Advocating for patients by facilitating informed decision-making and improving healthcare delivery.
• Providing culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethical care within legal standards of practice.
• Coordinating patient care activities with interdisciplinary team members.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Maintaining proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
• Performing physical duties such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking.
• Completing annual organizational requirements for employment.
• Documenting nursing care per hospital policies and utilizing information systems to improve efficiency.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences and resolving complaints promptly.
• Investigating and addressing physician, employee, and patient complaints as needed.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
