Job Title: ORTHOPEDIC NURSE NAVIGATOR
Location: California
Job Summary:
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the joint replacement population from pre-operative class to recovery. This includes demonstrating knowledge of the principles of caring for in-patient processes/protocols, disease processes, risk factor identification, patient and family education, patient experience, and community resources.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months Epic experience within the past year.
- Four (4) years of clinical nursing experience.
- Thorough knowledge of TJC Disease-Specific and other regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with clients, physicians, co-workers, and the community.
- Collaborative work style.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent experience in orthopedics.
- Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Orthopedic Nurse Certification from Orthopaedic Nurses Certification Board or other relevant specialty certification.
Additional Information:
- Provides psychosocial and emotional support to joint replacement patients and their families.
- Develops, manages, implements, and evaluates the Joint Replacement program in coordination with the Program committee.
- Offers pre-operative class education to prepare patients for surgery and after-care.
- Assists in the development of educational material for patients, families, and clinical staff in collaboration with the Education Department and Joint Certification committee.
- Attends and participates in Joint Certification Meetings and other related committees/taskforces as needed.
