Description

Registered Nurse - Surgery

Location: San Marcos, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a surgical setting.
Utilize the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Manage psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments following protocols; monitor side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.
Meet professional competencies related to leadership and nursing standards.

Work Schedule

Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Call Requirement: One weekend per month (approximately 7 days per month)
Full-time position

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
Operating Room (OR) experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
