Description
Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 18:45–7:15)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Work Environment
- CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) night shift
- Unit welcomes first-time travel nurses
- Every other weekend work schedule
- May float to MSICU, Neuro ICU, or Burn ICU as needed
- Scrub color: Navy
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Oklahoma
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Negative 2-step TB test, QGOLD, or TSPOT within 1 year of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually
- Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years (no declinations except approved medical exemptions)
- Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (with specific documentation rules)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1–Mar 31)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable (minimum 80% passing score)
- Color blindness test (online version accepted)
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
Additional Notes
- No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are welcome
- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
- E-Verify and other background screenings required upon hire
- Fingerprinting required only for New Mexico placements (not applicable here)
- References are not required for clearance but may be requested internally
