Description:

Workdays involve a Friday to Sunday schedule from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, including on-call and holiday requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Confirm patient identity and exam verification before initiating scans, strictly following department policy and patient safety procedures.
Coordinate with physicians for diagnostic imaging needs.
Prepare patients for scans, explaining procedures to ensure comfort.
Insert IVs if required for the tests.
Position patients accordingly, employing safe patient handling techniques, which may involve assisting patients with limited mobility.
Maintain accurate patient records by documenting necessary information within EPIC, ensuring images are correctly sent to the PACS system.
Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.

Requirements:

Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology, maintaining certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
New York State licensure required before starting the position.
Two years of experience required.
Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

Injection certification is preferred and should be acquired during the orientation process if not currently held.
Familiarity with Philips and Siemens equipment is preferred.

Soft Skills Required:

Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Patient and compassionate disposition.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, maintaining a cohesive working environment.

Experience and Skills:

Level I Trauma experience: 2 years required.
CT Tech License: Required in New York.
BLS Certification: Required through the American Heart Association.
Siemens Scanner Experience: Minimum of 6 months required.
Epic Experience: Highly desired with at least 1 year of experience.
Telemetry experience is required.
