Description

Position Overview:

This role involves working on tasks typically scheduled for Fridays through Sundays, from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. It requires availability for on-call and holiday shifts, with an expectation of 2-3 on-call shifts per month.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Confirm patient identity and verify exams before initiating scans, strictly adhering to department policies and procedures for safety.
Coordinate with physicians to provide accurate diagnostic imaging.
Prepare patients for scans, explain procedures, and assist them in feeling comfortable.
Insert IVs when necessary for testing.
Position patients properly, including lifting or moving those with limited mobility, while ensuring safe patient handling practices.
Maintain accurate records by properly documenting all necessary components within the EPIC system, including identifying and sending images to the PACS system correctly.
Ensure a clean and safe scanning facility.

Requirements:

Must have injection therapy certification on license if currently registered in NYS.
Completion of formal training at an approved School of Radiologic Technology, maintaining Certification through the ARRT.
NYS licensure required before starting the position.
Minimum of two years of experience.
Experience in Level 1 Trauma Centers.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Experience with telemetry is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Injection certification during the orientation process is preferred.
Familiarity with Philips and Siemens equipment is an advantage.

Level I Trauma Experience: Required, 2 Years
CT Tech License (NY ONLY): Required
BLS (American Heart Association ONLY): Required
Two years of experience: Required
Siemens Scanner Experience: Required, 6 Months
Epic Experience: Highly desired, 1 Year
Telemetry: Required
