Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ER) in Walnut Creek, CA. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing critical care to patients in need. As part of a dedicated team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, managing a diverse patient population including STEMI, stroke, trauma, and falls.
• Utilize advanced clinical skills and critical thinking to assess and respond to patient needs effectively.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic system.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care.

Requirements:

• Current California RN license.
• ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications (AHA only).
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an Emergency Department setting.
• Prior travel experience is required; at least 1-2 previous travel assignments preferred.
• Epic experience is mandatory; work history must indicate usage of Epic.
• Strong ER experience and superior references are essential.
• Preferred certifications: CEN, TNCC, with 3-5 years of experience, including some trauma and pediatrics experience.

Work Environment:

• 12-hour rotating shifts (1p-1a, 3p-3a, 5p-5a, 7p-7a).
• Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4.
• Good teamwork and a positive attitude are required.
• Fast-paced environment with a high daily census of 190-200 patients.
