- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 — Asheville healthcare jobs, North Carolina nursing jobs
- Unit: D2 Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit (40 beds) — Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) — Telemetry RN, PCU RN, Night Shift
- Hours per Week: 36
- Duration: 13 weeks (with extension opportunities) — travel nurse contract
- Dress Code: Navy Blue/White or combination
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) — Registered Nurse required
- Minimum 1 year recent MedSurg, Telemetry, or Step-Down (PCU) experience — Telemetry RN / Step-Down experience preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with Cerner documentation and Baxter IV pumps is a plus
- Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and patient-centered approach
- Charge Nurse experience appreciated or willingness to consider
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive admitted patients from the ED and complete Admission Assessment, Medication Reconciliation, and initiate acute care orders
- Provide high-quality clinical care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced, quick-turnover Telemetry/PCU unit
- Monitor telemetry, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate per policy
- Maintain patient safety, promote positive patient/family experience, and follow clinical protocols
- Float to other units within skill set as needed and participate in ED Transport and CMU Telemetry roles when opportunities arise
- Document care accurately in Cerner and manage IV therapy using Baxter IV pumps
- Work every other weekend, assist with holidays, and collaborate closely with CNAs and unit staff
