Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (Western North Carolina)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800–$1890
• Start Date: 03/09/2026
• End Date: 06/08/2026
• Contract Duration: 91 days
• Schedule: 36 hours/week
• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• On-Call: No call required
• Floating: May be required to float to other units as needed
• Unit Snapshot: 20-bed mixed-acuity overflow unit (med-surg and/or step-down/PCU); short-stay focus with quick turnover
• EMR/Charting: Cerner

Telemetry RN (PCU) Requirements

• Required Skills: Telemetry competency (rhythm interpretation and monitoring)
• Required Experience: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / step-down experience
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA preferred)
• Preferred: Recent progressive care/step-down experience
• Professional Fit: Positive attitude, compassionate, patient-experience focused, and a strong team player

Key Responsibilities (Telemetry/Step-Down Nursing)

• Provide safe, high-quality telemetry nursing care for step-down/PCU-level patients in a mixed-acuity overflow environment
• Interpret telemetry rhythms, recognize clinical changes, and escalate concerns promptly using established protocols
• Manage efficient admissions, discharges, and transfers to support a short-stay/quick-turnover workflow
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, patient education, and discharge readiness
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Cerner
• Support unit staffing needs by floating to other units when required
