- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
- Location: Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC 28801 (Asheville, North Carolina)
- Unit: Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC), E Heart Tower
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (travel assignment)
- Shift: 12 Hour Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period

Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state (Registered Nurse)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year recent stepdown/telemetry nursing experience
- Experience with cardiovascular and vascular surgery patient populations preferred (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass)
- CVICU experience is a plus; telemetry nurse and stepdown nurse experience preferred
- Ability to float to stepdown, medical-surgical units, and ER inpatient holding areas as needed
- Team player who thrives in fast-paced environments and demonstrates schedule flexibility
Responsibilities / Clinical Duties
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, and manage medical cardiology overflow
- Manage a typical patient ratio of 1:5 per RN in the PCU/stepdown setting
- Perform and monitor procedures including epidural and chest tube management, enteral feedings, IV insulin, and complex cardiac drips
- Administer and titrate cardiac infusions and drips (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, diltiazem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine as indicated)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge RNs, patient care technicians (PCTs), and health unit coordinators (HUCs)
- Document care accurately in Cerner EMR (electronic medical record)
- Adhere to unit guidelines, hospital policies, and dress code (navy or white scrubs)
- Participate in required weekend and holiday coverage
