Job Details
- Location: Savannah, GA 31419 (Savannah, Georgia nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel assignment / travel nursing job)
- Role: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN) – Acute Care, Medical/Surgical Unit (MedSurg 5S)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (every other weekend required) — night shift travel RN
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
- Start Date: 4/17/2026
Top Qualifications (Med/Surg RN / Travel Nurse)
- Active RN license
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
- At least 1 previous travel assignment strongly preferred (travel nurse experience)
- Experience with a broad range of Med/Surg patients is highly desirable
- Must complete MedSurg skills checklist
- Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
- Navy scrubs required
Key Responsibilities (Medical-Surgical Nurse Duties)
- Deliver high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population, including patients with sickle cell disease, heart failure, vascular and pulmonary conditions, diabetes, and failure to thrive
- Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 5-6:1 in an acute care setting
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurse aides, charge nurses, and respiratory therapists
- Use respiratory therapy (RT) equipment such as nasal cannulas, face masks, and BiPAP as indicated
- Document all patient care and assessments using the MEDITECH electronic health record/charting system
- Participate in a comprehensive orientation and precepted shifts, including unit-specific computer training
- Maintain compliance with all unit and hospital policies to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
