- Location: Tallahassee, Florida (32308) — travel nursing job in Tallahassee / Florida travel nurse
- Facility: Trauma Level 2, Teaching Hospital, 772 beds
- Unit: Surgery – 28 suites; OR pods on ground and first floors (Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neuro, ENT, Ortho, General, GYN, Urology, Robotics)
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 40 (perioperative / OR nurse schedule)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 8/1/2026)
- On Call: Requirement dependent on shift time
- Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1:1
Job Requirements (CVOR / Perioperative Nurse)
- Minimum 3 years of CVOR experience as a Cardiovascular OR RN or perioperative nurse
- At least 2 prior travel assignments (travel nurse experience preferred)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- Clinical ability to circulate and/or scrub across specialty pods (Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neuro, ENT, Ortho, General, GYN, Urology, Robotics)
- Willingness to attend EPIC training and complete facility orientation
- Travelers cannot have a Tallahassee address to be considered
- Strong clinical skills, adaptability, and teamwork in a fast-paced trauma environment
Responsibilities (Cardiovascular OR RN / Surgical Nurse)
- Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and other specialty OR pods as needed
- Circulate and/or scrub for a wide variety of surgical procedures, including cardiothoracic and vascular cases
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams in a trauma level 2 teaching hospital
- Maintain a 1:1 nurse-patient ratio to ensure optimal patient safety and outcomes
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond as required by unit staffing
- Complete EPIC training and demonstrate competency during orientation
- Demonstrate flexibility to float between OR pods based on staffing needs and experience
