Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Holyoke, MA (Zip: 01040) — Holyoke nursing jobs, Western Massachusetts
• Setting: Psychiatric Adolescent Unit (inpatient behavioral health)
• Employment Type: Travel, On-Site (Travel RN opportunity)
• Schedule: Evening shifts (3:00pm – 11:30pm), 8-hour shifts
• Hours: 40 hours per week (guaranteed)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: July 6, 2026 – End: October 5, 2026)
• Shift Details: Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license in the State of Massachusetts (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric nursing experience
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Experience with restraint reduction, de-escalation, or crisis intervention preferred
• BSN preferred (Massachusetts nursing jobs often value BSN-prepared nurses)
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
• Effective communication, time management, and team-building skills
• Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and documentation best practices

Responsibilities – Psychiatric RN / Behavioral Health Nurse

• Provide direct and indirect inpatient psychiatric care to adolescents and adults
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment grounded in trauma-informed behavioral health principles
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Document patient goals, interventions, and progress in the EMR consistent with regulatory and facility standards
• Support colleagues and take charge as needed in a collaborative, empowered team environment
• Champion patient advocacy and recovery-focused models of care
• Manage crisis situations calmly and professionally using de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques
