Description
Start Date: May 18, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 13-26 week assignments, every other weekend required, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
Highlights:
- 42-bed Medical-Surgical/Oncology unit serving general med-surg patients with oncology history
- Comprehensive skill development including chemotherapy administration, port access, blood products, central lines, and wound care
- Epic charting system with full interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 24-hour orientation with experienced unit staff to ensure smooth transition
- Float opportunities to similar units and alternate care locations based on facility needs
- First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years inpatient experience
Requirements:
- Active RN license (NC or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years inpatient nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification
- Oncology Nursing Certification (ONS/ONCC) and chemotherapy administration certification required
- Proficiency in med-surg skills including colostomy care, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line management, PICC lines, surgical drains, chest tubes, and wound care/wound vac
- Experience with isolation precautions, non-invasive airway management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Must be comfortable floating to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
- Willingness to participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
