Job Opportunity – Pediatric PACU Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Evening/Night shifts with flexible options: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts between 7:00pm-7:30am or 11:00pm-7:30am. Monday-Friday OR Sunday-Thursday schedules available with no on-call requirements.

Highlights:

• Comprehensive pediatric PACU position caring for diverse surgical and procedural inpatient/outpatient populations across all age groups from neonates to adolescents
• Work within a Magnet-designated facility serving as a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center with a Level IV NICU
• Utilize Epic EMR system with extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Daily census of approximately 25 patients with comprehensive orientation including 24 hours of structured onboarding
• Manage varied case loads including neurosurgery, orthopedic/spine procedures, ENT, general surgery, and complex peri-anesthetic care
• Travel assignment with floating required as needed; local candidates within 50 miles will not be considered

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of pediatric PACU experience required
• Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact RN license
• BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel experience required; minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in specialty
• Must successfully pass telemetry examination prior to start (80% passing score required; strict criteria for lethal rhythm identification)
• Phase I PACU experience and Trauma Level I experience required
• Charge experience preferred; patient ratio experience of 1:1
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
