Description
Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am), Monday through Friday with 2-3 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period. Patient ratio 1:1-3. Floating required to pediatric units for patients less than 12 months of age.
Highlights:
- Work in a 26-bed Level IV NICU, a Magnet-designated children's hospital providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art pediatric care
- Provide care for high-acuity neonates requiring advanced medical and surgical interventions, including post-operative cardiac, abdominal, and thoracic surgery patients
- Utilize Epic EMR and advanced equipment including multiple ventilator modes (invasive/noninvasive, NAVA), whole body cooling systems, and aEEG monitoring
- 24 hours of orientation provided with interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Model patient- and family-centered care environment with a focus on developmental care and healing atmosphere
- Two pre-approved time-off periods available during assignment
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of total NICU III/IV experience required, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU (hard stop requirement)
- Active RN license (Wisconsin or Compact state)
- BLS and NRP certifications required (American Heart Association only)
- PALS certification preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience with post-operative patients, g-tubes, tracheostomy/ventilator management, and various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation
- Demonstrated competency in neonatal critical care skills including central line management, arterial line management, IV vasopressors, high-frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, and ventilator management
- Must pass telemetry competency exam with strict passing criteria (80% or higher, 100% identification of lethal rhythms)
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
