Description
Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Monday through Friday with 2-3 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period (4-6 weekend shifts per contract)
Highlights:
- Level IV NICU with 26 beds in a Magnet-designated children's hospital setting
- Comprehensive case mix including post-operative neonates, cardiac surgery patients, surgical complexities, and advanced ventilator management
- Advanced technology including NAVA ventilation, aEEG monitoring, and whole body cooling therapy
- Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
- Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
- Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact State license
- Minimum 2 years total NICU Level III/IV experience required
- At least 1 full year of Level IV NICU experience (hard requirement)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications (American Heart Association only) - PALS preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with post-operative patients, g-tubes, tracheostomy/ventilator management, and various invasive/noninvasive ventilation modes
- Must pass telemetry competency exam with strict criteria (80% or higher, 100% identification of lethal rhythms)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Willingness to float to pediatric units caring for patients less than 12 months of age, including PICU
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
