Description
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), Monday through Friday, with 2-3 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period. Float requirements to pediatric units for patients less than 12 months of age.
Highlights:
- 26-bed Level IV NICU within a Magnet-designated pediatric medical and surgical center
- Care for high-acuity neonates including post-operative surgical patients, those with congenital heart disease, neurologic disorders, and complex medical conditions
- Advanced technology including ventilators for invasive and noninvasive ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia equipment, and comprehensive diagnostic services
- Patient-and family-centered care model with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and specialized pediatric services
- Epic EMR system; 24 hours of orientation provided
- Travel assignment with minimum 1-year contract; locals within 50 miles not accepted
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Wisconsin or Compact State)
- Minimum 2 years total NICU Level III/IV experience, with at least 1 full year in Level IV NICU required
- Experience with post-operative patients, g-tubes, tracheostomy/ventilator management, and various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation
- BLS and NRP certification required (American Heart Association only); PALS preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous travel experience required
- Proficiency in neonatal dosage calculations, central line management, arterial line management, IV vasopressors, high frequency ventilation, and nitric oxide administration
- Must pass telemetry competency exam with strict passing criteria prior to start
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
