Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical
Location: Utica, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Work on a 56-bed unit covering Oncology, Hematology, Nephrology, Endocrine, GI, Dermatology, and General Medicine.
- Patient population: Adults (18 years and older).
- Common diagnoses include cancer, ESRD, diabetes, abdominal pain, and various general medicine conditions.
- Unit requires floating to other areas as needed.
- Specialty equipment used includes IV pumps, NG tubes, chest tubes, and specialty beds (e.g., sand beds).
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Oncology experience.
- 2 or more years of total travel nursing experience.
- Current certifications: BLS issued by the American Heart Association, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Chemotherapy Certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records system.
Additional Information
- Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at local rates.
- Scrub color for the unit is navy blue.
