Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical
Location: Utica, New York
Unit: Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown
Shift: Night (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Care for adult patients with diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation precautions, general medical-surgical conditions, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues.
- Use specialty equipment such as IV pumps, nasogastric (N/G) tubes, and feeding tubes.
- Floating to other units may be required.
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
- Unit size: 64 beds.
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Active New York RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience.
- Prior travel experience required.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (can be obtained prior to start).
- Ability to provide a NURSYS report verifying all active RN licenses.
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographic information.
- Skills checklist matching the specialty must be provided.
- Return to Office (RTO) documentation required at time of submission.
