Description
Job Summary:
A CT Technologist position is available in a Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. This role involves performing computed tomography (CT) procedures to create diagnostic images, supporting clinical evaluation, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The position requires collaboration with radiologists and other healthcare professionals, supporting both emergent and scheduled outpatient and inpatient scans.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Friday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., three 12-hour shifts with no on-call responsibilities. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduation from an approved two-year American Medical Association (AMA) Radiologic Technology School, high school diploma or equivalent, New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or limited permit, current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification, CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification. No minimum experience required; entry level or limited experience candidates may apply.
- Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of radiation safety measures as per New York State Department of Health code part 16, ability to operate CT imaging equipment, strong patient care skills, and willingness to support ongoing learning in imaging technology.
- Additional Information: The technologist will perform CT scans on a diverse patient population, including trauma, emergency, outpatient, inpatient, research, and those requiring specialized CT-guided procedures. The role emphasizes patient safety and education, supporting teaching and continuing education efforts.
