Description
Overview
This is a telehealth nursing position requiring strong telemetry skills. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in telemetry nursing within the last 6 months.

Job Responsibilities
- Caring for patients from the emergency department who are awaiting bed placement.
- Monitoring and interpreting cardiac telemetry strips.
- Administering medications and managing titratable drips (e.g., Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone) per physician orders.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals within the team.
- Assisting with vital sign monitoring and IV starts for emergency department patients, as needed.
Patient Population
The nurse will mainly care for telemetry patients, with a focus on managing cardiac conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong cardiac telemetry experience, preferably 2 years.
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer, with only 2 attempts allowed.
- Ability to complete a PASS/FAIL simulation lab during orientation.
Work Environment
- 60 ED beds available at the primary location.
- 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio.
- Run and manage telemetry monitoring independently, without dedicated monitor tech support.
Scheduling and Shifts
- 12-hour shifts available (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a).
- Ability to self-schedule, though flexibility may be required.
- Weekly requirement to work 4 weekend shifts and rotate through major holidays.
Orientation and Training
New hires will undergo 2 shifts of orientation to the Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units.
Additional Notes
- This position may involve floating to medical/surgical and overflow units as needed.
- Patients primarily include those waiting for inpatient admission from the emergency department.
