Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiopulmonary Telemetry and Neuro Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past six months. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality patient care in an acute care setting.
Unit Overview
This unit specializes in the care of patients with neurological and cardiopulmonary conditions. The team is composed of experienced healthcare professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Cardiopulmonary Telemetry and Neuro unit.
- Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms; participate in patient assessments and develop care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Participate in shift handoff and communicate pertinent information proactively.
Shift Details
- 12-hour shifts from 7 AM - 7 PM.
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
- First to float to sister facilities as needed.
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 26
- Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
- Support Staff: Patient Care Technicians available (1 per every 13 patients).
- Telemetry: Centralized telemetry monitoring.
- Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7.
- Pharmacy: Open 24/7.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the applicable state.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is required.
- Proven ability to interpret EKGs effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional patient care.
Orientation and Training
All new hires will undergo a two-day floor-specific orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the unit. Additionally, a Sim Lab assessment will be conducted on the first day of orientation.
