General Information

• Unit Name: Women’s Services
• Number of Beds: LDRP 9 beds, OBED 1 bed, NICU 4 beds, 1 OR suite
• Patient Ratios:
  • 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections
  • 1:3 for couplet care
  • 1:1 for newborns until stable
  • 1:3 for intermediate care in NICU
• Unit staffing: No techs or unit secretaries available.
• Equipment: Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps.
• Documentation System: Meditech and Centralized Patient Network (CPN)
• Scheduling Requirements: Full-time, 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays.
• Floating Policy: Staff may be required to float within the facility as needed; some staff are cross-trained between LDRP and NICU.
• Patient Experience: Daily rounding on all patients and safety rounding is required.

Qualifications

• Experience Required: Labor and delivery experience including laboring and recovering mothers as well as receiving and transitioning newborns with thorough assessments.
• Preferred Experience: Familiarity with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other potential obstetric emergencies.
• Advanced Skills: Proficient in fetal monitoring and experience with inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil).
• Procedures Performed: C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries.
• Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring training.

Dress Code

Uniform: Pink and/or brown scrubs required per infant security policy for the unit.
