Job Description

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional patient care. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in post-operative care and a commitment to high-quality nursing practices.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical/Surgical/Orthopedic
• Number of Beds: 32
• Nurse-Patient Ratios: 4:1 (with 2-3 Patient Care Technicians on day shift)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience, preferably within the last 6 months.
• ACLS certification required.
• Strong post-operative assessment and time management skills are essential.
• Travel nurses must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start, with a maximum of 2 attempts.
• Completion of a pass/fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation.
• ONS Chemo Provider Card is preferred, but not mandatory.

Patient Population

Patients may include those recovering from various surgical procedures, including but not limited to:

• Colorectal surgeries
• Urological surgeries
• Bariatric surgeries
• Hepatobiliary surgeries
• Hysterectomies
• Breast reconstructions
• Chemotherapy and Oncology patients

Shift and Scheduling

• Self-scheduling is available.
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period.
• Holiday rotations will be followed.
• Standby is monitored by central staffing.
• Floating to other medical/surgical/tele units is required, and telemetry experience is essential.

Support and Orientation

• Dedicated orientation with a preceptor over 2 shifts.
• Telemetry monitoring equipment includes CPAP and high-flow for palliative care patients only.

Additional Information

The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, and up to 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks. The charting system utilized is Cerner.
