Job Overview

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Cardiac Telemetry Nurse to join a dynamic healthcare team. The role involves providing specialized care for patients in a telemetry unit, with a focus on those recovering from cardiac procedures and other related conditions.

Unit Information

• Unit: CV Tele D2 (formerly B3A) & C4
• Number of Beds: 32
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Common Diagnoses: Post-cath lab, post-vascular procedures, day 2 CABG patients

Role Responsibilities

The Cardiac Telemetry Nurse will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and interpreting telemetry data, specifically EKGs.
• Administering medications including Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine.
• Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide patient care.
• Maintaining a sterile field and adhering to best practices in patient care.
• Floating to similar or lower acuity units as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience, within the past 6 months.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS.
• Pass the Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam 24-48 hours prior to position acceptance.

Work Schedule

This role requires 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM with weekend rotation. Nurses should also be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays and float if needed.

Support Staff

• Charge Nurse: Yes, with no patient assignment.
• Clinical Supervisor: Available in a management role.
• Patient Care Technicians: 1 for every 16 patients.
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7.
• Pharmacy: Available 24/7.

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo a 2-day floor-specific orientation to ensure a smooth transition into their role.
