Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role requires critical thinking skills, flexibility, and the ability to work well within a collaborative environment. The nurse will provide care in a unit with a mix of ICU and PCU patients.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 10 ICU/PCU Overflow
• Patient Ratios: 2:1 ICU, 4-5:1 PCU
• Staffing Structure:
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 Staff RNs
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 Staff RNs
• Equipment: Lift equipment, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), ventilators, IV pumps, and more.
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scheduling Requirements: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday support.
• Floating Policy: Travelers may be required to float.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be expected to:

• Provide direct patient care and support in an ICU/PCU setting.
• Comfortably manage hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator settings.
• Assist healthcare providers with bedside procedures, including chest tube insertion and intubation.
• Perform nurse leader rounding.
• Ensure compliance with patient experience requirements, including bedside shift reports.

Qualifications

• Must have medical ICU experience in a large healthcare facility.
• Advanced skills in ventilator management and critical care pharmacology.
• Experience in advanced hemodynamic monitoring and central line management is required.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy blue or white scrubs.
