Schedule

Monday - Friday; 3pm - 11:30pm EST, on call/callback, holidays, and occasional weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan, strictly adhering to department policies and procedures for patient safety.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging services.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to ensure comfort.
• Insert intravenous lines when necessary for the test.
• Position patients appropriately, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; utilize safe patient handling techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient records by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC, including identifying images and ensuring they are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.

Requirements

• Healthcare professionals currently registered in New York State must possess injection therapy certification stated on their license at the time of application.
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure (must obtain prior to starting position).
• Two (2) years of experience.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Injection certification preferred; willing to complete during the orientation process.
• Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred.
