Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing nuclear medicine imaging and therapy while ensuring adherence to applicable standards of practice. This role will involve evaluating patient histories and physician orders, educating patients on procedures, and ensuring their understanding and cooperation throughout the imaging process.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician's orders to ensure appropriate imaging procedures are carried out.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams for optimal understanding and cooperation.
• Position patients and perform imaging procedures, ensuring proper techniques are used based on age and ability to cooperate.
• Analyze imaging results and identify any quality issues, taking corrective actions as necessary.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results accurately.
• Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and regulations.
• Monitor patient conditions continually and respond to any changes appropriately.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms.

Qualifications

• CT certification with PET/CT experience preferred.
• ARRT certification in CT.
• Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) with nuclear medicine certification (NM) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Valid New York State License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Equipment

Preferred knowledge in GE PET or Philips PET scanners is a plus, but not a requirement.

Schedule

This position offers Monday to Friday shifts, varying between 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. No weekends, on-call duty, or holidays are required.
