Schedule

Monday - Thursday

• Must be available for shifts from 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM on Monday and Tuesday
• Shifts from 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday
• Work includes two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts per week
• Availability for holidays and callback as per unit needs

On Call Requirements

On call responsibilities include:

• 2-3 call shifts each month

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and exam accuracy prior to conducting scans, ensuring adherence to departmental policies for patient safety.
• Coordinate with physicians to facilitate accurate diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for procedures while providing clear explanations to enhance their comfort.
• Administer IVs as needed for various tests.
• Position patients correctly for scans, ensuring safe handling, especially for patients with limited mobility.
• Maintain precise patient records by documenting essential components in the electronic health record (EPIC) system and ensuring images are forwarded to the PACS system post-exam.
• Ensure the scanning facility is clean and safe for patient use.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid registration as a healthcare professional in New York State, including injection therapy certification.
• Completion of formal training in an accredited Radiologic Technology program with current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure must be obtained prior to commencing the position.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience required.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center is essential.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Injection certification is preferred but must be completed during the orientation period.
• Familiarity with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment is advantageous.
