Unit Information
The Progressive Care Unit is equipped with 24 beds and operates under a collaborative team structure. The unit emphasizes a friendly and outgoing work environment, promoting teamwork and excellent patient care.
Shift Information
- Day Shift: Charge Nurse, 4-5 RNs, 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Night Shift: Charge Nurse, 4-5 RNs, 2 PCTs
Patient Ratios
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1, ensuring focused and comprehensive care for each patient.
Equipment and Technology
- Tele monitoring
- Post-operative monitoring
- Meditech / CPN for electronic medical records
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of current hospital experience in a Progressive Care Unit
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Preferred Skills
- Experience in cardiac care
- Familiarity with Meditech software
Typical Procedures
Patients typically undergo post-operative recovery from various procedures, including:
- Surgical interventions
- Cath lab procedures
- Orthopedic surgeries (spine and joint)

Scheduling
The unit offers a modified self-scheduling process, allowing for schedules to be posted three weeks in advance, enabling flexibility for trades and adjustments.
