Job Overview

The ICU Float Registered Nurse position offers a unique opportunity to work in various ICU specialties, including Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Respiratory Special Care, and Surgical Progressive Care. This role requires strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills along with a commitment to staying current in critical care knowledge.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the intensive care units with the greatest staffing need.
• Utilize strong critical thinking skills in assessing and implementing care plans.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of critical care practices and protocols.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) License in New York.
• Minimum of two (2) years of acute care experience in an ICU setting.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

Schedule

This position requires rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights, with every other weekend availability. Participation in holiday shifts may also be required.
