Description

CT Technologist

Shift Information

Training will consist of a few day shifts, followed by a rotation of 4 nights one week and 3 nights the next (Wednesday-Saturday/Thursday-Saturday). Shift hours are from 19:30 to 07:00. No on-call duties are required.

Minimum Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience required.

Certifications and Requirements

  • General Certifications: BLS/BCLS
  • Allied Health Certifications: ARRT(R), ARRT(CT)
  • Other: NMTCB, CNMT, RVT

Job Description

Join a dedicated team as a CT Technologist and provide exceptional patient care in a professional environment. This role involves performing CT and radiographic procedures with accuracy and professionalism under the guidance of a physician, while being attentive to the special needs of all patients, including those who are pregnant, traumatized, ill, or elderly.

Essential Job Duties

  • Deliver quality patient care consistently while performing radiographic and CT procedures accurately.
  • Perform quality radiographic exams by:
    • Selecting appropriate voltage, current, and exposure time to minimize radiation exposure while ensuring quality diagnostic images.
    • Properly positioning patients to achieve optimal views of specified body areas as directed by the physician.
    • Using shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Conduct quality CT exams by:
    • Determining proper protocols as indicated by the ordering physician and radiologist.
    • Maintaining adherence to ALARA principles for both adult and pediatric patients.
    • Positioning patients to obtain the best possible images of the requested body parts.
  • Execute quality MRI exams by:
    • Following established protocols in accordance with physician and radiologist's orders.
    • Utilizing MRI safety questionnaires to verify patient safety before MRI procedures.
    • Positioning patients appropriately for optimal imaging results.
  • Transport patients to and from the department while assisting them from beds or gurneys to examination tables.
  • Ensure relevant consent forms are signed prior to examinations and gather necessary patient history for all exams.
  • Document reactions and patient histories as needed, and inform physicians of any patient allergies.
  • Adhere to sterile techniques and maintain cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Conduct radiographic procedures in various settings, including operating rooms and emergency departments, using portable equipment safely and efficiently.

Education and Experience

Graduation from an accredited ARRT program is required. Current registration by the ARRT (R)(CT) or an equivalent certification is mandatory. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of CT experience.

Availability for holiday coverage is required.
