Job Summary

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging to patients while ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the scanning process. The role involves preparing patients for procedures, collaborating with physicians, and maintaining accurate records within the imaging system.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday; 3pm - 11:30pm EST, with on-call/callback responsibilities during holidays and occasional weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans while adhering to departmental policies for patient safety.
• Coordinate with physicians to facilitate diagnostic imaging services.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Insert IVs as necessary for diagnostic tests.
• Position patients appropriately for scans, including assisting patients with limited mobility while ensuring safe handling practices.
• Maintain accurate patient records by documenting all necessary components within the EPIC system, ensuring images are correctly identified and transmitted to the PACS system post-exam.
• Ensure the scanning facility is clean and safe for patient use.

Requirements

• Current registration as a Healthcare Professional in New York State, with injection therapy certification included on the license at the time of application.
• Completion of formal training from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure must be obtained prior to starting the position.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Injection certification preferred, with a willingness to complete during the orientation process.
• Familiarity with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment is a plus.
