Job Summary

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role involves collaboration with physicians and maintaining accurate patient records in a professional environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and confirm the accuracy of exams before initiating scans, following departmental safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians to deliver effective diagnostic imaging services.
• Prepare patients for scans and clearly explain procedures to alleviate any concerns.
• Administer IVs when required for specific tests.
• Position patients appropriately, ensuring safe handling, especially for those with limited mobility.
• Document necessary components within the EPIC system accurately, including identifying images and ensuring they are correctly sent to the PACS system post-exam.
• Maintain a clean and secure scanning facility.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure (must be obtained prior to the start of the position).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Injection certification preferred, with willingness to complete during the orientation process.
• Familiarity with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment is preferred.
