Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Facility: Einstein Medical Center
Hospital System: Jefferson Health
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (no variable shifts)
- Schedule: Block scheduling considered
- Days per week: 2-3 late days per week
- Weekend Requirement: None
- Float Requirement: None
- On-call: None
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
- Clinical Skills Required:
- Ability to perform electrophysiology studies and ablations
- Function in the scrub role
- Circulate, scrub, and monitor during procedures
- Charting Systems: McKesson and Cerner
- Scrubs: Provided
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all candidates
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – As applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – As applicable
- State Nursing License – Primary source verification required
- NURSYS Verification – For RN, LPN/LVN, AP as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification – Facility accepts Relias or CEdirect courses
- HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement – Annual update required
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing – For Dysrhythmia Exam during orientation
Required Competencies & Exams
- Pass/Fail Basic Dysrhythmia Exam during orientation (one attempt only)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – As applicable
- Competency Exam – As applicable to specialty
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Physician statement within 2 months of start
- Fit Mask Test: Within 12 months prior to start (3M 1870+ model required)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Current vaccination or titer acceptable
- Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray: Qgold or TSPOT within 90 days; chest x-ray if positive test
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; exemptions for candidates born before 1957
- Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or declination accepted
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (9/16/2024 - 4/1/2025) or approved exemption
- COVID-19 Vaccine: No longer required prior to start; exemptions require mask use at work
Background & Compliance
- Background Check: 7-year criminal check within 90 days of start, including multiple databases and PA PATCH for Pennsylvania facilities
- EPLS/GSA/SAM Checks: Required upon hire
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually
- Education Verification: Highest level verified; official transcript acceptable
- Fingerprinting: Required for Pennsylvania placements, must be current within 5 years
- Work History Verification: Required for New Jersey candidates (internal requirement)
- State-Specific:
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 12 months of start
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Fingerprint Results within 12 months
Facility Specifics
- Orientation Modules: Assigned by Jefferson Education Department; must be completed prior to orientation (not required for Einstein Philadelphia and Einstein Elkins Park)
- Photo for Badge: Required ASAP
