Position Details

• Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (no variable shifts)

• Work Days: 2-3 late days per week

• Potential Float: To Cath Lab if experienced

Job Responsibilities

• Perform electrophysiology studies and ablations
• Function in the scrub role
• Circulate, scrub, and monitor during procedures
• Must be proficient in electrophysiology procedures

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all candidates
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – May be required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – May be required
• State Nursing License – Primary source verification required; compact licenses accepted where applicable
• NURSYS Verification – Required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
• Other Certifications: HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement, NIH Stroke Certification (may be required)

Required Competencies & Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Pass/Fail Basic Dysrhythmia Exam during orientation (one attempt only)
• Competency exams relevant to specialty/profession

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 2 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (3M 1870+ model required)
• Current Tdap vaccine or titer
• Negative TB test (Qgold or TSPOT within 90 days) or chest X-ray if applicable
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Vaccination or immunity documentation for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• COVID-19 vaccine no longer required prior to start, but exemptions require mask protocols

Background & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including all locations lived/worked
• EPLS/GSA/SAM checks upon hire
• 2 professional references within 2 years
• Education verification (official transcript acceptable)
• Pennsylvania-specific:

  • Child Abuse Search within 12 months
  • Department of Human Services fingerprinting results within 12 months
• Fingerprinting required for PA placements, updated every 5 years
• Work history verification (NJ candidates only)

Orientation & Facility Specifics

• Facility-specific education modules assigned and must be completed prior to orientation (not required for Einstein Philadelphia and Einstein Elkins Park)
• First Day Instructions provided directly by Jefferson Health
• Badge photo required prior to start
