Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP (options include 12/29, 1/12)
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Days/Evenings
- Call: Approximately 4-5 times per month, including weekends
- Locals Accepted: Yes, but at a lower rate
- Required Experience: Minimum 1 year with prior travel experience
- 1st Time Travelers: Not accepted
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Wisconsin or Compact State Nursing License
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Includes SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide sex offender check
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required (agency to run for subcontractors)
Competencies & Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (required for dialysis/kidney center roles)
- Competency Exam (as applicable to specialty)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, shoulders up, no filters)
- Compliance checklist to be completed by agency representative
- Confidentiality statement to be signed prior to start
- Flu vaccine religious or medical exemption forms if applicable
- Dosimeter request form (only for Imaging Department, not MRI Tech)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative QGold TB test within 1 year (Chest X-Ray within 60 days if applicable)
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 14 days before start (instant acceptable)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct-Mar)
References & History
- Two professional references verified within 2 years of start
- For inpatient RNs (MS, MS/TELE, IMC, Stepdown, ICU): one reference must be from most recent acute care assignment with performance comments
- Skills checklist required annually
