    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Modesto, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Requirements

    • Licenses & Certifications:
      • California RN license (CA RN license)
      • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AHA/AAP only, must be Instructor or Advanced Provider Course
    • Shift: Rotating weekend shifts
    • Duties: Attend deliveries

    Experience

    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - typically required for Labor & Delivery, verify by position
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - verify by position
    • NIH Stroke Certification - verify by position
    • IV Certification (if applicable)
    • Other certifications as required by position

    Competencies

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
    • Competency Exam with minimum passing score of 80% (or Angoff score if higher)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (may be required for some units)

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work)
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
    • Immunizations:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella - proof of immunity or vaccination
      • Hepatitis B series or declination
      • Varicella - proof of immunity or vaccination
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
    • Color Blind Exam (in-person exam required)
    • Respiratory Safety Clearance (not required for all roles)

    Documentation & Compliance

    • Full 7 years of work history with no gaps in employment over 30 days
    • Unit-specific skills checklist, renewed annually
    • References: 2 professional references for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for non-acute care

    • Failed fit tests due to facial hair require shaving and retesting; other failures may require PAPR training.
