Travel RN Opportunity - Inpatient Rehab

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Specialty: Rehab Nursing (RN)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in Med Surg or Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) nursing (highest required years of experience)
  • At least 1 year prior travel nursing experience required
  • Minimum 13 weeks EPIC electronic health record experience
  • Acute inpatient rehab or acute rehab hospital experience required
  • Skilled nursing experience not accepted unless accompanied by 2 years IRF or Med Surg experience

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required

• Shift & Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend required for travel nurses
  • No call requirements

Facility & Unit Information

• 49-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility
• Patient ratio approximately 1:7
• Uses EPIC electronic health record system
• Patient population includes individuals recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions requiring inpatient rehab

Common Diagnoses & Treatments

• Hypertension
• Blood glucose monitoring and insulin protocols
• Feeding tube care and swallowing precautions (thickened liquids)
• Foley catheter care
• Care of ports and PICC lines
• Starting IVs
• Care for patients with CVA (stroke), Parkinson’s disease, post-craniotomy, spinal injury, brain injury, joint replacement
• Supplemental oxygen delivery
• Isolation precautions
• Ulcer and wound care

Additional Information

• No float requirements
• Dress code: Scrubs and sneakers allowed; scrub color is flexible
• Preferred experience with trauma patients is a plus

This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with a strong background in inpatient rehab nursing and EPIC system proficiency, seeking a 13-week assignment in a specialized rehab hospital setting.
