Travel RN Opportunity - Inpatient Rehab (Madison, Wisconsin)
Position Overview
- Specialty: Rehab Registered Nurse (RN)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour shifts
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend required
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: No float required
- Dress Code: Scrubs and sneakers; scrub color is flexible
Experience & Certifications
- Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years in Med Surg or Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF)
- Prior Travel Experience: 1 year travel experience required
- Required Certifications: BLS
- EPIC Experience: Minimum 13 weeks EPIC experience required
- Additional Notes: Skilled nursing experience alone is not accepted unless accompanied by 2 years of IRF or Med Surg experience
Unit & Patient Information
- Facility Type: 49-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital
- Patient Population: Patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions requiring inpatient rehab
- Patient Ratios: 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Common Diagnoses/Treatments:
- Hypertension
- Blood glucose monitoring and insulin protocols
- Feeding tube care and swallowing precautions (thickened liquids)
- Foley catheter care
- Care of ports and PICC lines
- Starting IVs
- CVA (stroke), Parkinson’s disease, post-craniotomy care
- Spinal and brain injuries
- Joint replacement recovery
- Supplemental oxygen delivery
- Isolation precautions
- Ulcer and wound care
- Preferred Experience: Trauma experience is a plus
