Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (36hr Nights)

Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 36-hour night shifts
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:15 PM - 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend and rotating holidays

Required Credentials & Certifications

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA preferred, Red Cross accepted

• Current RN License – Primary source verification required; MA Conditional Licenses NOT accepted
• N95 Fit Test – Must be completed within 365 days prior to start and updated annually (no onsite fit testing)
• Medication Exam – 80% passing score within 365 days
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) Immunity – Documentation of vaccines or immunity blood test required
• Influenza Vaccine – Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions allowed
• TB Test – Documentation of negative TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Health Statement – Physician statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Criminal Background Check – Within 45 days prior to start, including Massachusetts CORI check
• References – 2 recent references, at least 1 supervisor or above, in relevant skillset
• Skills Checklist – Required for submission
• Education Verification – Verification of highest education level achieved
• SSN Trace – Must cover past 7 years of addresses/employment/education
• National Sex Offender Check – Within 30 days of start and annually
• Exclusion Checks – OIG, GSA, Medicaid exclusion lists checked and attestation uploaded

Additional Health & Compliance Requirements

• Hepatitis B – Strongly preferred (vaccination record, immunity proof, or declination)
• Tdap Vaccine – Preferred within last 10 years
• Positive PPD Follow-up – If positive TB test, chest x-ray documentation required
• Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) Attestation – Required if fit test is needed
• MGB NWH Self-Study Orientation & Attestation – Mandatory before onboarding

Notes

• All required documentation must be current and compliant with facility and state regulations.
• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for N95 fit testing or influenza vaccine.
• Background and credential verifications are stringent and must be completed prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs comfortable with night shifts and working in a fast-paced hospital environment.
