Job Opportunity: OR RN (Operating Room Registered Nurse)

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Shift: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Rotations include 1-2 weekend shifts and 1-2 evening shifts (1 PM - 11:30 PM) per 4-week schedule
  • On-call required: 1 holiday call, 2-3 weekday calls, and 1-2 weekend calls per 4-week schedule
  • Weekend shifts include call coverage after shift hours
• Unit: Operating Room (Level III Trauma OR, complex community setting)
• Patient Population: Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Census: Approximately 30-40 patients per day
• Bed Count: 15
• EMR System: EPIC
• Floating: Not required
• Rotating Shifts: Yes (day shifts rotate to evenings and weekends)

Experience & Skills Required

• Years of Experience: 2 years (higher value between 1-2 years stated)
• Skill Sets:

  • Basic aseptic technique
  • Ability to circulate independently
  • Multispecialty competence

Certifications & Licenses Required

• Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• Fit Test (N95 respirator, within 365 days)
• Influenza Vaccine (required during flu season, no exemptions)
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or proof of immunity
• TB Test (skin test or blood test within 3 months)
• Health Statement (physician-signed within 365 days)
• Criminal Background Checks including Massachusetts CORI, National Sex Offender Check, Exclusion Checks
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (if fit test required)
• Other health requirements: Hepatitis B (strongly preferred), Tdap (preferred), Positive PPD with negative chest X-ray if applicable

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
