Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 to 26 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: Nights, 4 shifts of 12 hours each (7 PM - 7 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (candidate's choice)
Weekend Requirement: Every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) as standard
Holiday Requirement: Expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day)
Time Off: Up to 5 days off per 13-week period can be automatically approved; additional time off requires approval and may need to be made up
Job Summary
Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adult patients on a telemetry unit. Coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort. Practice within the scope of nursing guidelines and state regulations.
Unit Information
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical & Telemetry Short Stay
- Patient Population: Adults only (approximately 50% medical, 50% telemetry)
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4-6 patients per nurse
- Equipment: Standard telemetry nursing equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Certifications: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Flu vaccination required for travel period November 1 - April 1 (exemptions require approval)
- Ability and willingness to float to other units as needed
