Registered Nurse (RN) Telemetry I - Long-Term Assignment

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a 32-bed Orthopedic/Neuro Med/Surg telemetry unit.
• Patient population includes scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients, fractures, neuro patients, and medical overflow.
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Floating to other applicable units as needed.
• Rotating shifts for day positions (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a); night shifts do not rotate.
• Clinician-to-patient ratio:

  • Day and evening shifts: 1:4 (may go up to 1:5)
  • Night shift: 1:5 or 1:6
• Charting system: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year.
• Neuro assessment skills.
• Telemetry competency.

Certifications & Health Requirements

• BLS (AHA only accepted).
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 15).
• Tuberculosis (TB) test within 3 months of start date.
• Fit test for N95 respirator within 1 year of start date.
• MMR vaccination or proof of immunity.
• Health statement signed by a licensed provider within 1 year.
• Criminal background checks and CORI (Massachusetts) required.
• Medication and Dysrhythmia exams with minimum 80% passing score within 1 year.
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit test required.
• Other standard health and background verifications as required.

Additional Information

• Must be willing to float to other units as requested.
• Rotating shifts required for day positions; night shifts are fixed.
• Documentation and credential verifications must be current and compliant with state and facility requirements.
