Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights and Every Other Weekend (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Unit: 39-bed Medical/Telemetry Adult Inpatient Unit (Mixed private and semi-private rooms)
Patient Population: Medical, low-risk cardiac patients
Patient Ratio:

• RN with PCA: 4-5 patients
• RN working alone: 3 patients
  Charting System: EPIC

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a medical/telemetry unit with patients who often have multiple medical conditions.
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Nursing assessment skills and knowledge of medication safety and administration are essential.
• Floating to other units may be required.
• Night positions do not rotate shifts; day rotators may be rotated between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a as needed.
• Rotation frequency is low.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Information

• Free on-site parking available.
• No prior travel experience explicitly required.
• Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray documentation.
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred but optional.
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years preferred.

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs comfortable with night shifts and telemetry monitoring in a medical inpatient setting.
