Description
Assistant Director - Case Management
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract Length: Approximately 14 weeks
Job Summary
Supervise and monitor Case Management activities, including orientation and training of Case Management Nurses. Develop department policies and procedures, collaborate with hospital departments, and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies. Serve as a resource to staff and represent the Director in their absence. Perform problem identification and resolution to support efficient department and hospital operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in direct patient care
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in quality assessment or utilization management
- Proficient critical thinking, math, and computer skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work as a team player and demonstrate professionalism and respect
- Ability to read, write, see, and hear English
- Competent in using electronic health record systems and relevant healthcare and billing software
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment with prolonged standing, walking, and reaching
- Ability to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items up to 35 pounds routinely
- May assist in lifting and moving patients, requiring the ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, communicable diseases, chemical hazards, radiation, and physical hazards such as needle pricks
- Requires manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and corrected vision and hearing within normal range
- Frequent computer work while seated at a desk

- Decision making and problem-solving skills are essential
- Must be able to fully utilize electronic record systems and other healthcare-related technology
- Position involves collaboration across multiple hospital departments and requires adherence to regulatory standards
